The Strawberry Banana Post Workout Protein Smoothie
This smoothie refuels the body with over 20 grams of protein, immune-boosting vitamins, lubricating healthy fats, and stress-reducing superfoods.
1 Tbsp vegan protein powder (A easily-digestible protein – essential for rebuilding muscle tissue.)
2 Tbsp hemp seeds (additional protein source and loaded with essential fatty acids)
2 Tbsp cashews (Loaded with minerals and also promotes collagen production and muscle relaxtion)
1 tsp maca powder (A Peruvian adaptogenic herb of the Incan Warriors-enough said)
1 banana (rapidly digestible carbohydrates, perfect for energy)
2 cups frozen strawberries (immune supporting vitamin c and antioxidants)
1½ cups coconut water or regular water (natures Gatorade, replacing electrolytes and rehydrating)
Stevia, to taste (a low, almost no glycemic sweetner)
Blend all the ingredients (minus the Stevia) until smooth.
Stir in stevia to taste to adjust sweetness, if desired. Serves one-ish.
Chef’s Note: The Length of activity, exertion level, body size and fitness level will dictate the amount of smoothie/calories/nutrients/protein needed after a workout; this smoothie is intended as a guideline, adjust to fit your fitness level and body needs.
